Self-Love

If I were to ask you to name all the things you love, how long would it take you to name yourself?

For some this may come as an easy answer but for others that's not the case.  Before we can answer this question, we must first ask the question "What is Self Love"? According to the Merriam- Webster Dictionary self-love has three definitions: "an appreciation for one's own worth or virtue", "proper regard for and attention to one's own happiness or well-being", and "inflated love or pride in oneself".

Self-love is not only about how we treat ourselves but the thoughts and feelings we have toward ourselves as well. Self-love can mean something different from person to person, because we take care ourselves in different ways. All and all self-love is accepting YOU FOR WHO YOU ARE. Never allow someone to even feel like they have the right to make you feel any less about yourself. Nobody is perfect we all have flaws but that's what makes us individually perfect in own ways. You have to accept the emotions you are feeling and put your mental, emotional, and physical well-being first. When you start to put yourself first you will notice healthier eating habits and relationships, you would notice yourself working out more and taking care of your body better.

So, what does self-love look like? Its saying positive things to yourself and not negative things. Reminding yourself that you are human, you will mess up sometimes and that's okay. Let go and move on! Going after your dreams and aspirations is a major key in loving yourself and what you do. Self-love is knowing is okay to ask for help when you need it. You have to challenge yourself and hold yourself accountable for your own progress.

Treat yourself the way you would treat someone you care about. Be courteous, understanding, and tendered hearted with yourself, YOU MATTER TOO!
